Phryne (rhymes with briny) Fisher
I just finished Kerry Greenwood's Urn Burial, the latest U.S. release in the Phryne Fisher mystery series. While I don't think this was one of her stronger stories, in general I really enjoy this series, featuring the wonderfully stylish and independent Phryne and taking place in 1920's Australia.

Really? Because I couldn't get into the first one. I thought it would be a good readalike for Maisie Dobbs...

They're definitely lighter than Maisie Dobbs, but still a possible readalike, especially considering that I greatly enjoy both. I think Laurie King's Mary Russell mysteries might be a closer readalike to Maisie.
All I can say is that I like Art Deco. Actually, while I enjoyed Maisie Dobbs, it didn't make feel like I need to read its sequel or any similar titles.
